Paying tribute to the late Native American scholar Vine Deloria Jr., "Destroying Dogma" follows the ripples of thought set in motion by Deloria's visionary words. This collection of essays by prominent writers and intellectuals demonstrates the breadth and influence of Deloria's life work. While covering a diverse array of topics, such as religious freedom, evolution, and the direction of leadership in Native communities, the essays all share Deloria's enduring notion that dogma is the enemy of critical thinking. Steve Pavlik teaches science at Tucson Preparatory School and is an adjunt faculty member in geopgraphy for Pima Community College. He has published extensively in the field of American Indian studies and is the editor of "A Good Cherokee," "A Good Anthropologist: Papers in Honor of Robert K. Thomas."

The present songbook is an anthology of the songs (in the order of composition) of Shrii Prabhat Ranjan Sarkar known as Prabha'ta Sam'giita. In February 1982, Shrii Sarkar gave to the world the gift of Neohumanism. Neohumanism is in fact a renaissance of the 7500 year old Principle of Social Equality (Sama Samaja Tattva) propounded by Lord Shiva. Neohumanism expands the scope of humanist concern to include the plant, animal and earth realms. Neohumanism focuses its efforts on controlling the baneful consequences of narrow sentiments such as geo (geographical) sentiment, socio (religious/ethnic) sentiment and humanist sentiment. It is the intensity of devotion (bhakti) or mystical love (Ishq-e-haqiqi) that gives the Neohumanist the capacity to rise above these sentiments, the ability to enlighten others about them, and the capacity to fight these sentiments. Neohumanism liberates people from their limitations and doubts and fills them with courage, determination and limitless love.

Literature can be used to disseminate ideas with devastating real-life consequences. In How Bad Writing Destroyed the World, Adam Weiner spans decades and continents to reveal the surprising connections between the 2008-2009 financial crisis and a relatively unknown nineteenth-century Russian author. A congressional investigation placed the blame for the financial crisis on Alan Greenspan and his deregulatory policies-his attempts, in essence, to put Ayn Rand's Objectivism into practice. Though developed most famously in Rand's Atlas Shrugged, Objectivism sprouted from the Rational Egoism of Nikolai Chernyshevsky's What Is to be Done? (1863), an enormously influential Russian novel decried by the likes of Fyodor Dostoevsky and Vladimir Nabokov for its destructive radical ethics. In tracing the origins of Greenspan's ruinous ideology, How Bad Writing Destroyed the World combines literary and intellectual history to uncover the danger of hawking “the virtues of selfishness,” even in fiction.

For many years I have stated and written at my web sites and stated on many radio shows, that your basic Satanic liberal will use any and all means to change meanings of words because their usual and meaningless selves fail all the time. I do personally believe that Satan and its demons either possess many liberals or they have run amok of their own feelings and have become seriously satanically oppressed of Satan and its demon thugs. They rewrite anything to suit their own Satanic influenced selves into meaning what they think "it" means. And that brings us to this...the rewriting of the Holy Scriptures. And, these pathetic liberals that know not much of anything, will always accuse others of what they themselves have done in a vain attempt of making themselves look better at whatever it is that they do. As you read this book always have the Scriptures open before you and pray before you read one jot and one tittle.

The Upheaval Trilogy contains all three volumes: Slow Walk, Edge of Reality, and Solstice Moon. SLOW WALK Courage is the mastery of fear. Mark Twain Three quarters of the earth’s people wiped out. No power. No phones. No fuel for trucks to move food into the cities. Panic and anarchy rule. Her family gone, young Sydney Waters faces the greatest challenge of her life when she sets off to find a family friend she hopes will help her. A man who may or may not still be alive. A journey of a thousand miles. Alone and on foot. A journey that will test her every step of the way. SLOW WALK, the first book in the Upheaval series, brings alive a world where the rules of civilization no longer exist and survival often means choosing who deserves to live—and who should die. EDGE OF REALITY Sanity is madness put to good use. George Santayana Sydney Waters stares out over the brittle, dry landscape three hundred feet below, sunken land that used to be Nebraska. How to cross four hundred miles of desert with a blind man and a dog? Before Sydney can change course, the cliff edge breaks away, tumbling her blind companion down into the desert. Their only option now is a dark cave in the cliff that leads deep beneath the state, into the depleted Ogallala aquifer. Not an issue for a blind man, but uncomfortable and scary for Sydney. Book Two of the Upheaval Series takes Sydney and her companions on an extraordinary and unexpected adventure in a world turned upside down. SOLSTICE MOON Survival can be summed up in three words–Never Give Up. Bear Grylls Sydney Waters finds herself alone in the harsh and unforgiving Rocky Mountains. No sign of Jordan or the great hound, Dogma. The threat of snow in the air. Her choices whittled down to one: she must continue alone toward her destination. With many miles left to walk and winter closing in, the temptation to give up becomes overwhelming. But to give up now means sitting down and waiting to die. After coming this far, does Sydney really want to end her journey with a whimper? Book Three of the Upheaval series, Solstice Moon concludes Sydney’s courageous journey, traveling down twisty, challenging paths the reader never imagined. A post-apocalyptic adventure.
