From one of America's most successful and beloved country music artists, Rascal Flatts's Jay DeMarcus, Shotgun Angels reveals the untold stories of his journey and will rally your own courage to find hope where you least expect it. From his humble beginnings in Ohio, to the spark of early fame in Nashville, to a fair share of surprises and setbacks, Jay has learned firsthand that the blessing only comes through the broken road. Shotgun Angels details his path to celebrated heights, as well as the hope instilled in him at a young age that started it all--a hope that sustained him when it looked like his music career was over, and continues to fuel him today. With no shortage of humor, heart, and off-the-cuff candor, Jay gives readers a backstage pass to the story behind the music and the musician. You'll follow his intensely personal journey through big breaks and broken dreams, desperate dashboard prayers, and limelight glories. Along the way, you'll find the same constant source of strength that he has--hope that is powerful enough to hold you up through whatever trials come your way.

The Price of Pussy is based on the sexual power women hold over the world. This book shows what men and women will do to enjoy the irresistible pleasure of a woman’s sexual relation. The Price of Pussy is a novel based on the reality of life. Ms. Neta is the mother of three girls: Arrika, Marshalee, and Beatra. She is also the mother of one son, Craig, who gets badly injured over “the price of pussy.” Ms. Neta is married to the Game. She teaches her three daughters, along with her two play daughters, Amber and Stacey, the game of life. Ms. Neta makes it clear to them the real price of pussy. Her philosophy is told like no other. Stacey plays the ultimate price for selling her goods cheap. Ms Neta warns her girls of the dangers and consequences of giving. You could call them hoes, prostitutes or even gold diggers. But one thing we’ll never be able to call them is “stupid.” Because to a man, the price of pussy may seem to be a little expensive. However, to a woman who knows the value of her life, “the price of pussy” is considered “priceless.” The message is far bigger than the title. To both men and women that lay around carelessly, look in the mirror and ask yourself, “What is my price? What am I worth?”

Until one of lifes unexpectancies blindsided him, forcing him to embark on a journey that could undoubtedly prove fatal. Few people would suspect that mild-mannered Sean "Recon" Wallace was one of the most powerful men in the country - financially, politically, and physically. Content to spend his time alone in the wilderness of Southwest Georgia, the former Force Recon Marine never expected to stumble upon the scene where three men were preparing to make a pornographic snuff film. Rescuing the woman from the filmmakers was only the beginning, however. Informed that there was a shipment of captured young girls about to be sold into prostitution, and that someone in his own company is involved in the human trafficking conspiracy, Sean teams with a beautiful Australian heiress to save the girls, restore his corporate legacy, and prove that power deferred is not power lost. Adventure, mystery, romance and humor - the trademarks of a novel by Alex Fogel, are once again in abundant supply throughout "Heavy Traffic on a Dirt Road".

Many racial minority communities claim profiling occurs frequently in their neighborhoods. Police authorities, for the most part, deny that they engage in racially biased police tactics. A handful of books have been published on the topic, but they tend to offer only anecdotal reports offering little reliable insight. Few use a qualitative methodological lens to provide the context of how minority citizens experience racial profiling. Racial Profiling: They Stopped Me Because I’m ———! places minority citizens who believe they have been racially profiled by police authorities at the center of the data. Using primary empirical studies and extensive, in-depth interviews, the book draws on nearly two years of field research into how minorities experience racial profiling by police authorities. The author interviewed more than 100 racial and ethnic minority citizens. Citing 87 of these cases, the book examines each individual case and employs a rigorous qualitative phenomenological method to develop dominant themes and determine their associated meaning. Through an exploration of these themes, we can learn: What racial profiling is, its historical context, and how formal legal codes and public policy generally define it The best methods of data collection and the advantages of collecting racial profiling data How certain challenges can prevent data collection from properly identifying racial profiling or bias-based policing practices Data analysis and methods of determining the validity of the data The impact of pretextual stops and the effect of Whren v. United States A compelling account of how minority citizens experience racial profiling and how they ascribe and give meaning to these experiences, the book provides a candid discussion of what the findings of the research mean for the police, racial minority citizens, and future racial profiling research. Michael L. Birzer was recently interviewed on public radio about his book, Racial Profiling: They Stopped Me Because I’m ———!

Sure, Babylonia Delilah Jones is unclassed and only half paranormal, but that doesn’t mean she can’t compete with the big bad boys and solve cases too. That means working for a witch to spy on Zaid, the Head of the Vampire House. Baby can hear flowers sing, can make grass grow under her feet, communicate with animals and the Wind treats her like an old friend, but nothing prepared her for the Guicai Talisman, or it’s far too gorgeous guardian.
