This is my autobiography of a self-made man’s self-made daughter. I am proud to be the daughter of my Swedish-born immigrant father. He never felt fear of failure and he always Persevered and persisted in his dreams. Life is a slow process and he pushed through all his trials and he taught me to do the same both by word and by example. I had good Christian parents. The Lord gave me the courage and strength to rear four beautiful, strong children that I adore. The Lord saw to it that I was able to publish three books with His help. I have tried to live by Philippians 4:6 (NIV) which is “Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God.” And to be content with every situation in your life Philippians 4:11b. “Be content whatever the circumstances.” 12b “being content in any and every situation.” And John 14:1 “Do not let your hearts be troubled, but trust in God; and trust also in me (Jesus Christ).” Dad’s actions made me want to try my best and try to accomplish as much as I could even if I had to teach myself along the way. That’s why I feel I am truly a “Daddy’s Girl”. I’m very proud of my accomplished children and grandchildren today. They felt education was important and always strive to be successful. I have been through a lot from losing the joy of my life, Gene, to Alzheimer’s and my precious son, Jeff, to cancer. After writing my second book, “Perseverance and Persistence” about my Swedish immigrant father, comes my autobiography, “Daddy’s Girl” from a man who taught me perseverance and persistence.

Dad's Gift is a tender story about the sudden illness and death of a young boy's father and the important role his dog Harley played in helping him through the grieving process. This book shows the benefits of undertaking daily exercise like dog walking, for improving physical and mental health and fostering family togetherness. It also touches on the medical conditions of cancer, epilepsy and peripheral neuropathy. Based on real life events experienced by the author, his sensitive text is perfectly complimented by his beautiful illustrations, which have a uniquely Australian flavour. It is aimed at supporting a young person who has experienced the loss of a parent or loved one, from a Christian perspective. Dad's Gift is the ideal aid for a parent, grandparent, teacher or grief counselor to use - to provide comfort, healing and hope to any bereaved child.

A magical adventure about two brave siblings determined to find a treasure that could save their family. When eleven-year-old Pet Martin’s dad falls from a ladder on their family farm, it isn’t just his body that crashes to the ground. So does every hope her family had for the future. Money is scarce, and Pet’s mom is bone-tired from waiting tables at the local diner, and even with the extra hours, it’s not enough for a third surgery for Pet’s dad. Her five-year-old brother, Simon, now refuses to say anything except the word “cheese.” Worst of all? The ladder accident was Pet’s fault. She’s determined to fix things—but how? Good old-fashioned grit…and maybe a little bit of magic. When a neighbor recites a poem about an ancient coin hidden somewhere on the grounds of the local abbey, Pet forms a plan. With her brother, a borrowed chicken, and a stolen pony, Pet runs away from home. If she can find the coin, Daddy can have his surgery, Momma can stop her constant working, and Simon might speak again. But Pet isn't the only one who wants the coin…which means searching for it is more dangerous than she ever imagined. This dazzling debut novel filled with magic, family, and adventure is sure to be an instant classic.

Guardianship is golden, in more ways than one. It is more supreme than a power of attorney. A power of attorney seems to be the correct way to assure your end of life accountings are in order. Majority of people complete the preparation for when their time comes. Some of us know little about guardianship. You either learn from others or find yourself in an actual unfortunate experience. Power of Attorney and guardianship are similar; someone has control. However, there is one huge difference if you have siblings and sometimes other family members in the picture. Once they are plagued with greed, they can change EVERYTHING. Our experience is a good example.

Allison Drew’s frail, ninety-one-year-old father Tom Drew vanishes without a trace from his Salisbury, Connecticut home in July 2007. His caregiver claims he left his house on foot. Despite massive searches, he is not found. Seeking to discover what happened to her father, Allison embarks on a brutalizing psychological journey leading her to America’s eroded democratic institutions. When she criticizes the police handling of the disappearance, she is arrested for criminal trespass of her father’s home. Dragged into the criminal justice system, denied her right to trial, she sees and feels the system’s injustices. Allison’s memoir unravels the threads binding small towns and their police in a cocoon of silence. A forensic examination of the police investigation into her father’s vanishing, it is also a study of prejudice through the prism of dementia and an exploration of the emotional impact of a missing relative.
