Excerpt from Co-Operative List of Periodical Literature in Libraries of Central California The first edition of this List was issued in 1880, and combined in one alphabet the periodical sets of nine libraries located in San Francisco and vicinity. The second edition of 1892 included the sets in twelve libraries. In view of our greatly increased resources, of this nature, and in response to urgent demand, the present edition has been prepared, through the courtesy and by the united effort of my brothers-in-arms, to whom I return sincere thanks. It is a matter of much regret that, with the closing of the Odd Fellows'. Library of San Francisco, a few sets like the Sacramento State Sentinel of 1857-58 and the Oriental, 1857, have temporarily (we hope) disappeared..
