God inspired me to write this collection of poems, speeches, plays and skits for children’s Christmas and Easter programs in 2005. The objective was to help people discover the reason for our Savior’s Birth, Death, and Resurrection. This book is an inspiration when read to your children and grandchildren, even if you’re not involved with planning and implementing a program. However, if you’re the Children’s Ministry leader, this book has it all (poems, speeches, and skits for children’s Christmas and Easter programs. It will touch the hearts of God’s people and those who haven’t accepted Christ’s gift of Salvation. My deepest desire and prayer is that when the unsaved hear (or read) my poems, speeches, and skits, they will want to be saved.

George Herbert combined the intellectual and the spiritual, the humble and the divine, to create some of the most moving devotional poetry in the English language. His deceptively simple verse uses the ingenious arguments typical of seventeenth-century 'metaphysical' poets, and unusual imagery drawn from musical structures, the natural world and domestic activity to explore a mosaic of Biblical themes. From the wit and wordplay of 'The Pulley' and the formal experimentation of 'Easter Wings' and 'Paradise', to the intense, highly personal relationship between man and God portrayed in 'The Collar' and 'Redemption', the works collected here show the transcendental power of divine love.

This book contains, in verse form, depictions of events in the Bible as they may have happened. Often ordinary or even unknown people, carrying out their daily activities, would be suddenly immersed in a supernatural occurrence. One example would be the shepherds looking after their sheep and then, in the middle of their work, becoming witnesses of the birth of Jesus Christ. Some of these poems seek to evoke the atmosphere on such occasions, and the reactions of the people present. Other poems are portrayals of the actual events themselves, while others again describe the present day commemorations of those special events which make up the Christian Church's Year. All royalties from the sale of this book go to the Little Way Association which, taking its name from the Little Way of St Therese, Patroness of the Missions, works to provide spiritual and material help to village communities in the developing world.
