This book of poetry is about life's spiritual journey, and encounter with God. How we know God through the Holy Spirit and how we re-act to His presence. It's about how we see life's different seasons, and inner reflections regarding our spiritual in-sights. It answers some of life's questions. Mary Ellen Boyd Piacenti was born in Greene County, Indiana in 1944. Her ancestors came from Scotland in the 1700's. During her elementary years she attended a one room school and also a one room country church which is still in use today. She met and married a military man and moved to Illinois in 1964, where she presently resides. She was a homemaker there for many years, and it was during this time that she wrote most of her poetry. She worked as a teacher's assistant for five years, and also a Sunday school teacher. Mary Ellen and her husband Del are the parents of two sons, two daughters, six grandchildren, and one great granddaughter.

This book is dedicated to you. It is intended to inspire you, make you laugh, and make you just think. Hopefully some of the poems express some thoughts you may have had. In all things, don’t forget God! I have always loved creative writing. I have enjoyed writing books, movies, and plays but have never published any until now. This book was created just by talking to people who were going through something in life, and to give back to them, I wrote an inspirational poem as a gift.

The poetry of L. H. Swiger covers many areas of life. Some are about the love of nature, some about the love of family (both of parents and children), some are patriotic, and some are about love itself. Many of them are doctrinal (or about God and the way of Salvation or Biblical Victorious Lives). Brother Swiger was greatly inspired as he wrote about the death of his little nephew in “The Angels Picked Jesus A Birthday Bouquet”; or “Victorious Victims” (following the Oklahoma City bombing); or as he wrote the one titled “Tell Your Daddy Too.” Although not all were about personal events in his life, still he was often deeply motivated by a particular event that he was familiar with. This collection includes an essay about his first pastorate and the love of a place called Brushy Run, West Virginia. He has included in this volume a Christian family love poem (that tells a story) in “Just One.” He also has listed about thirty maxims in this book. Brother L. H. Swiger has written approximately 580 Christian poems thus far (of these he has selected approximately seventy-seven for this book). He was born in the country, raised in the country, and has a deep lasting love of nature and family, which reflects in his poetry. He doesn’t profess to be a great poet, but he is anxious to share with others what God has given him, in poetry. It is his sincere desire that you will be touched by and enjoy this edition of “Heartfelt Poetry.” God Bless!

This collection of frank and sincere Christian poems might be described as a spiritual Bridget Jones diary! The poet expresses her intimate conflicts and concerns as she anticipates the eventual consummation of her marriage. Perhaps one of the main values of the collection is that it conveys a message for many young Christians (and older ones too-not just those preparing for marriage!) that the conflicts they experience are absolutely normal-and can be resolved and sanctified in so far as our dwelling place is not an earthly place but the Lord who is the same yesterday, today and tomorrow. The poet expresses a roller-coaster of emotions as she comes to terms with the age-old conflict of the flesh versus the spirit, the urges of the flesh versus the disciplined life of the Christian, especially as she deals with the anguish where the object of her love is often aloof and inconstant.

This Christian Poetry Collection, has 19 narrative style poems geared towards belief. Thought provoking and encouraging, she uses rhyme and Scripture to make her point. Having a personal relationship with Jesus is easy, and His commandments are not burdensome. They are simple and completely doable when we look to God with all our heart, mind, soul. The poems, "First name basis," "Praying my love to you Lord," and "This lowly seed," are heartfelt personal responses to the Lord working in the life of the Author. Let our gaze be always fixed on Christ and may we live our lives here with joy in our hearts as we look forward to eternity with Him. Luk 12:28 If then God so clothe the grass, which is today in the field, and tomorrow is cast into the oven; how much more will he clothe you, O ye of little faith?
