Integral representations of holomorphic functions play an important part in the classical theory of functions of one complex variable and in multidimensional com plex analysis (in the later case, alongside with integration over the whole boundary aD of a domain D we frequently encounter integration over the Shilov boundary 5 = S(D)). They solve the classical problem of recovering at the points of a do main D a holomorphic function that is sufficiently well-behaved when approaching the boundary aD, from its values on aD or on S. Alongside with this classical problem, it is possible and natural to consider the following one: to recover the holomorphic function in D from its values on some set MeaD not containing S. Of course, M is to be a set of uniqueness for the class of holomorphic functions under consideration (for example, for the functions continuous in D or belonging to the Hardy class HP(D), p ~ 1).

The papers in this volume cover a wide variety of topics in the geometric theory of functions of one and several complex variables, including univalent functions, conformal and quasiconformal mappings, minimal surfaces, and dynamics in infinite-dimensional spaces. In addition, there are several articles dealing with various aspects of approximation theory and partial differential equations. Taken together, the articles collected here provide the reader with a panorama of activity in complex analysis, drawn by a number of leading figures in the field.

This book features papers presented during a special session on algebra, functional analysis, complex analysis, and pluripotential theory. Research articles focus on topics such as slow convergence, spectral expansion, holomorphic extension, m-subharmonic functions, pseudo-Galilean group, involutive algebra, Log-integrable measurable functions, Gibbs measures, harmonic and analytic functions, local automorphisms, Lie algebras, and Leibniz algebras. Many of the papers address the theory of harmonic functions, and the book includes a number of extensive survey papers. Graduate and researchers interested in functional analysis, complex analysis, operator algebras and non-associative algebras will find this book relevant to their studies. The special session was part of the second USA-Uzbekistan Conference on Analysis and Mathematical Physics held on August 8-12, 2017 at Urgench State University (Uzbekistan). The conference encouraged communication and future collaboration among U.S. mathematicians and their counterparts in Uzbekistan and other countries. Main themes included algebra and functional analysis, dynamical systems, mathematical physics and partial differential equations, probability theory and mathematical statistics, and pluripotential theory. A number of significant, recently established results were disseminated at the conference’s scheduled plenary talks, while invited talks presented a broad spectrum of findings in several sessions. Based on a different session from the conference, Differential Equations and Dynamical Systems is also published in the Springer Proceedings in Mathematics & Statistics Series.

This is the second supplementary volume to Kluwer's highly acclaimed eleven-volume Encyclopaedia of Mathematics. This additional volume contains nearly 500 new entries written by experts and covers developments and topics not included in the previous volumes. These entries are arranged alphabetically throughout and a detailed index is included. This supplementary volume enhances the existing eleven volumes, and together these twelve volumes represent the most authoritative, comprehensive and up-to-date Encyclopaedia of Mathematics available.

This volume contains the proceedings of the Sixth International Conference on Complex Analysis and Dynamical Systems, held from May 19–24, 2013, in Nahariya, Israel, in honor of David Shoikhet's sixtieth birthday. The papers range over a wide variety of topics in complex analysis, quasiconformal mappings, and complex dynamics. Taken together, the articles provide the reader with a panorama of activity in these areas, drawn by a number of leading figures in the field. They testify to the continued vitality of the interplay between classical and modern analysis. The companion volume (Contemporary Mathematics, Volume 653) is devoted to partial differential equations, differential geometry, and radon transforms.

The book is an attempt to bring together various topics in partial differential equations related to the Cauchy problem for solutions of an elliptic equation. Ever since Hadamard, the Cauchy problem for solutions of elliptic equations has been known to be ill-posed.
