From the Introduction: After considering the wage gap and some earnings statistics, this paper will examine the experiences with the concept of equal value in Europe, the United States and Canada. Then, the concept will be discussed in reference to the equality section of the Charter. Finally, a number of arguments will be advanced against equal value legislation. These arguments are based on the theory that equal value is an impractical and unworkable concept and will accomplish very little in the struggle for women's rights.
