Papers presented on regulatory initiatives in Canada, Alberta, and Ontario; generation and on-site treatment of household hazardous wastes; the Ontario Waste Management Corporation's waste reduction program and classification of metal sludge; guidelines for petroleum refineries and upgraders; the characterization of foundry baghouse dusts waste; waste associated with the Alberta drycleaning industry; off-site collection, transfer treatment and processing in Alberta, as well as rural wastes, hospital wastes, recycled oil, bio-hazardous wastes, and design of landfill sites; and monitoring and site remediation and air emission testing in West Germany and Alberta. Future problems included environmental auditing, liability, risk management and responsibility, United State's problems in the area, public involvement, and communication and the media.
