"Assessment of State Brownfields Initiatives" is a December 1999 publication of the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) USER, an information source for housing and community development researchers and policymakers, based in Rockville, Maryland. The purpose of the study is to gain a better understanding of the current regulatory and economic development initiatives of U.S. states that could help promote the economic revitalization of depressed neighborhoods through the redevelopment of brownfield sites.
