From mistrust to love: can two wounded hearts find healing in each other? Evan Landry has always kept his past buried beneath a façade of calm, avoiding close relationships ever since a storm claimed his parents. The loss left him wary, and though he longs for his own family, he's cautious—especially after his brother's PowerBall windfall, which seemed to invite more trouble than joy. Channeling his wealth into helping others, Evan finds solace in supporting older women until his path crosses with Renee Ward. Renee has long been disillusioned with love, seeing it as a necessary evil rather than a source of happiness. After her mother and father’s string of failed relationships, she’s learned to avoid men and doesn’t believe in happily ever after. She views love as a fleeting illusion rather than a source of fulfillment, resigning herself to a life devoid of lasting connection. But when she crosses paths with a dangerous drug dealer and is forced to seek refuge at her grandmother’s home, Renee is acutely aware that her safety is only temporary. When Evan and Renee’s worlds collide, their mutual disdain is palpable, yet their undeniable chemistry is equally powerful. Can these two opposites confront their fears and resolve their differences to embrace a love neither of them believed possible? Fans of Elise Silver, Lori Wilde, Natalie Dean and Rhonda Lee Carver will enjoy the Billionaire Cowboy Brothers.

Nearly all scholars divide Genesis into primeval and patriarchal history, though they debate the precise point of division. One reason advanced to justify the division is a thematic shift. In primeval history, the narrator focuses on the origin and spread of sin, as well as God's consequent curse and judgment on humanity. In patriarchal history, however, the spread of sin theme falls off the radar of most scholars. But these analyses of the primeval and patriarchal narratives are simplistic and inaccurate. In fact, the theme of human sin and the divine curse not only serve as the main themes of the Fall narrative, but they also continue to function as major themes in both the primeval and patriarchal narratives that follow. More particularly, human sin appears to increase at both individual and societal levels. Moreover, just as the primordial sin threatened to derail the advance of God's kingdom and fulfillment of the creation mandate, so the spread of human sin in postlapsarian history threatens to thwart God's redemptive plan, which consists in the restoration of his original creational intentions for divine and human eschatological fullness. This proves true even in the patriarchal narratives where the sins of God's chosen often threaten the very promise intended for their ultimate good. These facts, which the author attempts to demonstrate in the monograph, not only have important ramifications for the unity of the Genesis corpus, but they also have important implications for the doctrines of sin, justification, and sanctification.
Primeval Saints

James Jordan reveals the fascinating weave of lives that bind together the heroes and villains of Genesis. Progressively, these lives image and reverse one another in an ascending narrative of action, a narrative all too commonly broken apart and missed. These heroes of the city of God -- Adam, Noah, Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, and others -- come to flesh and blood in ways that undo our normal assumptions. In stark contrast to the selfish heroism of pagan literature, the heroism of Genesis triumphs by breaking all the standard rules. Jordan inverts so many of the traditional negative judgments against these patriarchs' alleged weaknesses and "sins" of deception, struggle, and tyranny that they stand forth as heroes rather than scoundrels. And yet this book is not just about the heroes of Genesis. Throughout, Jordan draws a picture of how Christian culture should be imagined and lived in our own day, from creativity and work to tyranny and freedom. You will never be able to read Genesis the same way again.
