When her daughter, Allison, was ten years old, she asked her mom if they could buy a horse. Her daughter was told to "ask God for the horse she wanted" and that if it was His will, He would provide one. The very next morning, ten hours after praying to God, the phone rang, and the very horse she had prayed for was given to her. This was the first in a series of miraculous steps or "breadcrumbs from Heaven" as our extraordinary God laid out a step-by-step journey for a very ordinary family. This story is about God’s desire to be invited in and involved in our daily lives; every decision, big or small. You don’t have to be a theologian, a religious, a mystic or prophet. God loves each of us, just the way we are, and doesn’t want to hear from us only on Sunday or just when we are desperate for healing or help. Follow the journey of trust, faith and “hands on” guidance and encouragement with one God-incidence after another, as the Savitsky family followed God’s promptings in going from the suburbs of Westfield, to an empty bean field in Sheridan and building a ministry to serve children with special needs. Reins of Grace Therapeutic Riding Center (a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) tax exempt corporation) uses horses, goats, chickens, and beautiful gardens as respite, hope and healing for families with children with special needs. Our Mission is to offer services to all families who come to Reins of Grace, regardless of insurance or ability to pay.

A book written for the lost sheep, the marginalized, the "little ones" of the Lord, this piece of literature is meant to bring encouragement, insight, and a call to action for those in the body of Christ who feel they have been overlooked even though their faith in God remains strong. Believers who don't seem to fit in will find that God has not forsaken them but is actually still seeking them out. Among the topics included in this work, Breadcrumbs from the Master's Table, are practical issues like temptation, holiness, and submission. The overarching theme, however, is focused on those whom God has chosen, why he chooses them, and the Lord's message for them to "go out with him." The conclusion is a call to those who hunger for something more. It is a call to leave the things or people that entangle them and follow the Lord to a new challenge, a costly challenge, an achievable challenge.

At a young age, Sara Jackly was already enduring an unthinkable existence. Neglected by her mother and with no consistent caregiver to take over, Sara was often hungry, infested with lice, and forced to wear soiled, boy’s clothing that was too big. Even worse yet, she was groped, fondled, and raped nearly every day of her childhood by multiple sexual abusers that included her mother’s boyfriend, her grandmother’s ex-husband, and her cousin. In a raw and honest retelling of her personal experiences as a voiceless little girl, Jackly leads others through her horrifying childhood where she was bounced around from home-to-home, shamed by her mother, and repeatedly violated by family members and strangers. As she chronicles her journey into adulhood, she then reveals how she became addicted to drugs, transformed into a prostitute, and ultimately found hope, redemption, and forgiveness through her faith after she cried out to Jesus to remove her flashbacks, restore her innocence, and heal her broken soul and heart. Breadcrumbs to Lead You Home ... Follow the Trail is the autobiography of a sexually, mentally, and physically broken little girl and woman as she endured unthinkable circumstances to find hope in God’s unconditional love.

In this unusual and captivating commentary, acclaimed poet, priest, and professor José Tolentino Mendonça casts a keen and probing eye on that most beautiful of prayers, the Our Father. He goes far beyond the usual line-by-line biblical and spiritual exegesis and offers readers a cultural, literary, and indeed spiritual commentary couched in a compelling style that also reveals his poetic gift. Elie Wiesel, Raymond Carver, Angelus Silesius, St. Augustine, Cervantes, St. Paul, Thomas Merton, T. S. Eliot, Simone Weil, Ernest Hemingway-these are only a few of the names the author references in his commentary. However, the decisive and fundamental reference is to the word of the Bible. Writing with grace, the author opens up the neglected but rich messages of the Our Father to all believing Christians and all people of good will. Book jacket.

Love is easy to give when you are getting it back. Are we still called to God’s plan of how to love when we are getting none in return? Shauna Shanks’s brave journey through obedience reveals the outcome of when we dare to follow God’s ludicrous outline for love as described in 1 Corinthians 13. Wrecked with news of her husband’s affair and his request for a divorce, Shauna finds herself urgently faced with a decision. Does she give up and divorce her husband and move on, or does she try to fight for her marriage? The former choice seems to contradict God’s plan for how to love, such as “love never gives up,” “love is patient,” and “love is kind.” Taking God at His word and assuming the love chapter was really meant to be followed literally word by word, she not only finds herself falling in love with her spouse again, but also falling in love with Jesus, which changes everything. First Corinthians 13 presents an audacious, illogical, and irrational context of how to love, meant to be applied to every marital context not just the fairytale marriage. If God’s instructions seem illogical and audacious, you might just expect the same kind of results in return! This book is not air-brushed. It was written in the midst of the author’s deepest trauma, and she purposefully did not edit out her mistakes and failures during that season. This book will resonate with women who do not feel like the picture-perfect Christian woman with the fairytale life and marriage. A Fierce Love is the story of a train wreck and reaching out to God not in the calm but in the chaos and finding hope for the future.

Do you believe in miracles? Walking on water. Multiplying the fish and the loaves. Raising Lazarus from the dead. The miracles of Jesus may be well known, but they're often misunderstood. In The Wonder-Working God, pastor Jared Wilson wants to help us see that there's more than meets the eye when it comes to the miraculous events recorded in the Gospels. From the humble wonder of the incarnation to the blinding glory of the transfiguration, this book shows how Jesus's miracles reveal his divinity, authority, and ultimate mission: restoring us and this world to a right relationship with God.

In Taiwan, the Mid-Autumn Festival is a time for prioritizing family. When 25-year-old Jing-nan’s gangster uncle, Big Eye, asks a favor, Jing-nan can’t exactly say no, especially because two goons are going to follow him around to make sure he gets it done right. The favor is this: Big Eye’s 16-year-old daughter, Mei-ling, has a biker boyfriend from the wrong side of the tracks—in Big Eye’s gangster opinion—and Big Eye wants Jing-nan to bring her to Taipei, away from the bad influences, and straighten her out. It doesn’t take Jing-nan long to discover Mei-ling is even more trouble than the average bratty, rebellious teenager. She’s been spoiled rotten and doesn’t know how to take no for an answer. She has her father’s thugs wrapped around her finger and quickly becomes the miniature dictator of Jing-nan’s life. But Mei-ling is also hiding a secret—one that puts her in harm’s way. If Jing-nan wants to save his cousin from her own demons, he has to figure out the truth, even if it tears his family apart—again.
