Diva Delaney finds herself embroiled in a new mystery when she is asked to search for a missing witch. She is a psychic medium, not a private investigator, but she agrees as a favor to her Aunt Isabel. She soon discovers that more than one witch has been kidnapped from the nearby town of Verity Falls. With the aid of some local ghosts, Diva needs to get to the bottom of this latest puzzle. She will need to call on magical assistance from her cousins and even one of her enemies. Haydn Creighton has been her secret obsession since she was a kid. Even though he’s engaged to a snooty and slightly unstable British witch, Diva can’t get him out of her mind. She already owes him a favor for accepting his help. After this latest mess, she could be digging herself in too deep to extricate herself. Just to complicate things, Diva’s cousin, Courtney, has decided she wants to marry Drew McTavish. The sheriff has no idea the lengths magical folk will go to in order to get what they want. He still firmly believes the supernatural isn’t real and he isn’t at all prepared for what will soon be coming. cozy paranormal mysteries, cozy mystery, witches wizards warlocks, supernatural occult paranormal, female sleuth, spells magic, ghosts spirits phantoms poltergeist

Framed for another murder that she didn’t commit, Diva Delaney once again finds herself neck deep in trouble. This time, she knows who is behind the crime, but proving it isn’t going to be easy when the evidence against her is so overwhelming. She will have to rely on the father of her high school nemesis to get her out of jail. Luckily, Roger Mayhew owes her one, thanks to Haydn Creighton’s blackmailing skills. As if Diva doesn’t already have enough problems, Nina Rivers warns her that she’s in danger. The witch might only have moderate power, but one thing she excels at is hunches. Her intuition is never wrong and she senses Diva is in extreme peril. Someone out there means her harm, but she doesn’t know who it is, or when they’ll strike. Personally, Diva suspects the danger will most likely come from Gillian Farque. Haydn’s fiancé already has it in for her. Thanks to the damage Diva did to her sports car, she’s going to make her pay big time. Diva’s cousins, Eve and Courtney are having problems of their own. Eve’s is a direct result of accompanying Diva on one of her jobs. Courtney’s is self-inflicted. Her decision to attempt to force the handsome sheriff to fall for her has repercussions she didn’t plan on. There’s a reason why conjurers are forbidden from casting magic on normals. Doing so often backfires on the caster horribly. cozy paranormal mystery, cozy mystery, witches wizards warlocks, supernatural occult paranormal, female sleuth, spells magic, ghosts spirits phantoms poltergeist

The Delaney Coven has been given the task of taking down Minerva Kensington and her cronies. They’ll have to work with the mysterious person the UK Council of Conjurers have chosen to be their mole. Their mission is to find enough evidence against the councilmembers to have them ousted from their positions. Diva’s hairdresser has left town unexpectedly and appears to be on the run. It seems Khloe was involved with a dangerous coven who have friends in high places. Their powerful connections might have protected them in the past, but they won’t save them from facing justice forever. With the curse still hanging over them, Diva and Haydn must find the last of Yvonne Creighton’s remains and destroy them. Even if they manage to accomplish this, they’ll still be bound together. Now that their power has been merged, they’ll never be free from each other completely. The worst part is that Haydn has been involved in Diva’s life for so long that she isn’t even sure if she wants to be free from the man who is supposed to be her enemy. cozy paranormal mysteries, cozy mystery, witches wizards warlocks, supernatural occult paranormal, female sleuth, spells magic, ghosts spirits phantoms poltergeist

Diva Delaney and her grandmother are summoned to the Council of Conjurers headquarters in Boston. This isn’t an invitation that can be denied no matter how much Diva wants to avoid it. Even in Boston, Diva can’t escape from Haydn Creighton. The warlock seems to be there every time she turns around, taunting her with his wickedly handsome looks and annoyingly smooth charm. Her insidious attraction to him seems to be growing by the day and there’s nothing she can do to stop it. Being a normal living among a family of witches had been hard enough, yet things are even more difficult now that Diva has become a conjurer herself. Bringing together diverse disciplines such as literary and legal history, modern psychology and contemporary feminism, Anatomy of Censorship sorts out the many confusing explanations and often misleading justifications for censorship to reveal the underlying conditions and motivations that lead to the suppression of various forms of communication. It explains why censors are notoriously incapable of identifying what defines obscene, immoral or illicit expression and how they actually profit from this failure on their part. It shows how censors ultimately aim not to define expression, but people: how they use censorship to stigmatize classes of people as more prone to corruption and depravity, and how they thereby seek to protect the authority of the few rather than, as they falsely claim, the morality of the many. Above all, it offers a timely critique of the most seductive and bogus justification for censorship: that expression has the capacity to cause actual harm. It shows how the law and the censor conspire to foster this unsupported fabrication in the face of overwhelming evidence that no causal link between expression and harm has ever been discovered.
