Aunt Tula (La tia Tula), published in 1921, is one of the few novels written by Miguel de Unamuno to centre on a female protagonist. It is a vivid, nuanced portrait of the intelligent, wilful and yet vulnerable Tula. Despite having no biological children of her own, the unmarried Tula becomes the primary maternal figure for successive generations of children; some related to her, others not. Her chaste maternity is presented as a complex response to her long-held, self-sacrificing romantic love for her brother-in-law, her antipathy for the submissive role expected of bourgeois married women, and Tula's fear of her own physicality. Julia Biggane's translation captures the accessibility of style and richness of literary substance in the original, and the introduction equips the reader with an understanding of the text's wider material contexts and historical significance. Of special interest is the novel's representation of womanhood and maternity, itself inflected by wider social changes in countries across Western Europe and Russia during the first two decades of the 20th century.

They will always be the same: dumb, gluttonous and forgetful.” *"If you repeat a lie often enough, people will begin to believe it, and you'll even come to believe it yourself." *“Propaganda works best when those who are being manipulated are confident, they are acting on their own free will.” *"A lie told once remains a lie, but a lie told a thousand times becomes the truth." Sound familiar? It ought to. We are living it, and it will be our undoing. Never believe for one minute this is simply, the way it goes in all societies. The greatest sin reasonable individuals can commit is the refusal to think and perceive reality for what it is. This is my attempt to create a character, Iggy Marcus, the epitome of integrity, bearing the standard for all honest men and women everywhere, who abhor the destruction of America, man's greatest political creation. One I will never forget, he is in the book. He was the representative, business agent of about 1200 electricans. One day in his office talking to him, being good friends. He started cussing using God name. Chuck, I am a Christen, and I do not like it and God does not either. He answered back Blankty blank do not care then lightning struck next to his desk, we jumped and he said I am Sorry LORD, the full story is in the book, and took many steps for him to get reborn! We went out side where it struck, and there's no sign of rain or clouds! GOD showed His Power that day, and in time couple years laterin Chuck's life to change, to reading and believing the last part of the book is 33 messages, inspired by God's words. Had many, but these, I chosen, the best ones, if the reader wants to study them.
