The most useful therapy is one that can be applied to a wide range of client problems, is easy to learn, and produces lasting results following a brief intervention. Originally published in 1986, one of the major developments in behavioural psychotherapy and mental health in the previous decade had been the growing involvement of non-psychologists in behaviour therapy.
