Living on a damaged planet challenges who we are and where we live. This timely anthology calls on twenty eminent humanists and scientists to revitalize curiosity, observation, and transdisciplinary conversation about life on earth. As human-induced environmental change threatens multispecies livability, Arts of Living on a Damaged Planet puts forward a bold proposal: entangled histories, situated narratives, and thick descriptions offer urgent “arts of living.” Included are essays by scholars in anthropology, ecology, science studies, art, literature, and bioinformatics who posit critical and creative tools for collaborative survival in a more-than-human Anthropocene. The essays are organized around two key figures that also serve as the publication’s two openings: Ghosts, or landscapes haunted by the violences of modernity; and Monsters, or interspecies and intraspecies sociality. Ghosts and Monsters are tentacular, windy, and arboreal arts that invite readers to encounter ants, lichen, rocks, electrons, flying foxes, salmon, chestnut trees, mud volcanoes, border zones, graves, radioactive waste—in short, the wonders and terrors of an unintended epoch. This is an exciting science fiction adventure that starts out with six children and the boys father (Doc. Is what we call him), that works for NASA. Over many years while the fathers three boys and the three girlfriends children were growing up he talked about the end of the earth in 2012 and we were made to watch Star Trek and Star Wars and told us that his ship would have the technology of both adventures we watched. Doc built a starship on our farm that was fifteen storys and tall and with an advanced computer system could create whatever the Doc wanted. The starship and the six children took off in 2012 as the world ends by being sucked into the sun with all the other planet, we heard all the screams of all the people of the world as it died from all the people that didn't believe the Earth wouldn't be destroyed the way Doc told them; The Doc tried to save as many as he could, but no one would believe him. Later after we watched The world being destroyed the children were put to sleep for the long journey until the starships computer could find a world that we could survive on, the children were awakened 250 billion years A.D. And landed on a planet with portals that led to twenty one different worlds with different star systems and lots of wars going on that the children get involved in to help out the friendly aliens. There were no humans on this planet except the children in the book. You will have to read this exciting book to see all the adventures that happen. This book is like a movie in each world. I hope you enjoy this book as I did writing it, and stay ready for more adventures to come soon.

New York Times bestselling author John Eldredge offers readers a breathtaking look into God’s promise for a new heaven and a new earth. This revolutionary book about our future is based on the simple idea that, according to the Bible, heaven is not our eternal home--the New Earth is. As Jesus says in the gospel of Matthew, the next chapter of our story begins with "the renewal of all things," by which he means the earth we love in all its beauty, our own selves, and the things that make for a rich life: music, art, food, laughter and all that we hold dear. Everything shall be renewed "when the world is made new." More than anything else, how you envision your future shapes your current experience. If you knew that God was going to restore your life and everything you love any day; if you believed a great and glorious goodness was coming to you--not in a vague heaven but right here on this earth--you would have a hope to see you through anything, an anchor for your soul, "an unbreakable spiritual lifeline, reaching past all appearances right to the very presence of God" (Hebrews 6:19). Most Christians (most people for that matter) fail to look forward to their future because their view of heaven is vague, religious, and frankly boring. Hope begins when we understand that for the believer nothing is lost. Heaven is not a life in the clouds; it is not endless harp-strumming or worship-singing. Rather, the life we long for, the paradise Adam and Eve knew, is precisely the life that is coming to us. And that life is coming soon.

Help kids explore biblical answers to their questions about Heaven in a language they can understand. As in the adult title Heaven, Randy Alcorn addresses the difference between the present Heaven, where we go when we die, and the New Earth, where we will live forever with Jesus after he returns. Intended for kids ages 8–12, Heaven for Kids is sure to be an excellent resource for families, especially those in which the parents have read the adult title and wish to pass on that same level of understanding to their children. The book features ten chapters of questions and answers based on Scripture and is written in a style relevant to today’s kids. The book addresses kids’ common questions about Heaven, like: Can we be sure we’ll go to Heaven instead of hell? How can we know what Heaven is like if we’ve never seen it? Will we have real bodies in Heaven? Will we actually see God? What happens to us the second after we die? The book also has a summary of the gospel for those who want to be sure they are going to Heaven someday. Equip your kids with answers to difficult questions and encourage them to live “in light of Heaven.”

“Fans of hard sf will enjoy this space adventure” that follows Farside in the Grand Tour series from the six-time Hugo Award winner (Library Journal). The entire world is thrilled by the discovery of a new Earthlike planet. Advance imaging shows that the planet has oceans of liquid water and a breathable oxygen-rich atmosphere. Eager to gain more information, a human exploration team is soon dispatched to explore the planet, now nicknamed New Earth. All of the explorers understand that they are essentially on a one-way mission. The trip takes eighty years each way, so even if they are able to get back to Earth, nearly 200 years will have elapsed. They will have aged only a dozen years thanks to cryonic suspension, but their friends and family will be gone and the very society that they once knew will have changed beyond recognition. The explorers are going into exile, and they know it. They are on this mission not because they were the best available, but because they were expendable. Upon landing on the planet they discover something unexpected: New Earth is inhabited by a small group of intelligent creatures who look very much like human beings. Who are these people? Are they native to this world, or invaders from elsewhere? While they may seem inordinately friendly to the human explorers, what are their real motivations? What do they want? Moreover, the scientists begin to realize that this planet cannot possibly be natural. They face a startling and nearly unthinkable question: Could New Earth be an artifact?
