I hugged my sisters and they fit against my sides like two jigsaw pieces that would never fit anywhere else. I couldn?t imagine ever letting them go again, like releasing them would be to surrender the best parts of myself. Three sisters share a magical, unshakeable bond in this witty high-concept novel from the critically acclaimed author of Audrey, Wait! Around the time of their parents? divorce, sisters April, May, and June recover special powers from childhood?powers that come in handy navigating the hell that is high school. Powers that help them cope with the hardest year of their lives. But could they have a greater purpose? April, the oldest and a bit of a worrier, can see the future. Middle-child May can literally disappear. And baby June reads minds?everyone?s but her own. When April gets a vision of disaster, the girls come together to save the day and reconcile their strained family. They realize that no matter what happens, powers or no powers, they?ll always have each other. Because there?s one thing stronger than magic: sisterhood.

Every weekday April has the 4WD waiting at the school gate well before 3.30pm and a raft of after-school activities in hand to keep them all occupied. But seven years' worth of long lunches with her single friend Louis and two half days a week at the gallery have left this doctor's wife wondering if there is anything else. When Jeremy the private tutor comes into her life, and her foster daughter May comes of age, April begins to feel like a hothouse orchid, although she really longs to be a wild flower.

[Illustrated with 1 table, 7 maps, 1 figure and 13 Illustrations] The Battle of An Loc was one of the most important battles of the Vietnam War. It took place during the 1972 North Vietnamese Spring Offensive, after most U.S. combat troops had departed South Vietnam. The battle, which lasted over two months, resulted in the virtual destruction of three North Vietnamese divisions and blocked a Communist attack on Saigon. The sustained intensity of combat during this battle had not been previously seen in the Vietnam War. Although this battle occurred after the high point of American involvement in Vietnam, when U.S. forces were in the process of withdrawing from that country, Americans played a key role in the action. South Vietnamese ground forces and their U.S. Army advisers, working in close cooperation with U.S. Army and Air Force air support, proved a combination capable of resisting defeat and seizing victory. Because the Battle of An Loc did not involve large numbers of American troops, little has been written about the battle or American participation in it. Jim Willbanks’ study focuses on the conduct of the battle and the role American combat advisers and U.S. air power played in defeating the North Vietnamese forces during the spring of 1972.

Field-Marshal Haig commanded the British Empire forces through from 1915 to 1919; his period in charge of the men under his command has been the subject of much debate ever since the First World War ended. To some he was a “Butcher” overseeing the bloodbaths of the Somme and Passchendaele, to others he was a stoic leader faced with almost insurmountable difficulties of the warfare of the age. Whichever opinion holds sway in the public psyche, his despatches from the front, are gripping reading that drive to the heart of his character. Often fulsome of praise for the men under his command, Haig was reticent to give vent to failures in public; the despatches are very revelaing, whilst capturing all of the swings of fortune on the Western Front. Author — Field-Marshal Earl Haig, Douglas, 1861-1928. Text taken, whole and complete, from the edition published in London, J.M. Dent & sons ltd.; 1919. Original Page Count – xvii and 378 pages Illustrations — 10 maps and Illustrations.
