This is the story of the Double Red Diamonds who fought the Japanese in Timor, inflicting casulties far in excess of their number, and showing the usefulness of guerrilla forces against a numerically sperior enemy. While all other forces in Asia had been destroyed by the Japanese, the Double Reds were the sole Allied unit to remain undefeated. Colin Doig, who was one of their now rapidly dwindling nubmer, and who died in 1996, said. "The object of the story will be to tell of the humour and pathos which occurred to the men who proudly wore the Double Red Diamond Colour patch through five long years of peril, and had a wonderful comradeship which only comes through day by day contact in all sorts of surroundings."
