These are set forth in the usual schedules. There is also presented a balance sheet showing the Assets and Liabilities at the close of the fiscal year. Our Surplus Revenue increased almost since the last Annual Town Meeting. The average cash balance during the year was and the present cash balance is Anticipation loans amounted to during 1940 and I should like to call attention to the fact that we borrowed this amount at the low interest rate of 06' discount plus a premium of or a cost of for 302 days. Anticipated revenue exceeded the estimate by motor vehicle excise and water receipts showing the largest increases. Our tax collections averaged about the same as in the past two or three years and we are 83 per cent collected as of December 31, with no prior year's taxes outstanding.
