That's when the kitchen angels fly down, and delicious dinners appear on the friars' table night after night. INTERNATIONAL BETSELLER • In this uplifting autobiography, a modern-day Irish mystic shares her vivid encounters and conversations with the angelsand spirits she has known her entire life. With an afterword on angels and America and a bonus chapter on how to connect with your angel Lorna Byrne physically sees and talks with angels every day and has done so ever since she was a baby. As a young child, she assumed everyone could see the angels who always accompanied her. Adults, however, were often skeptical, concerned that Lornadid not seem to be focusing on the world around her. Today, sick and troubled people from all around the world are drawn to her for comfort and healing, and theologians of different faiths seek her guidance. Angels in My Hair is a moving and deeply inspirational chronicle of Lorna’s remarkable life story. Invoking a wonderful sense of place, she describes growing up poor in Ireland and marrying the man of her dreams—only to have the marriage cut short by tragedy. Angels in My Hair has garnered overwhelming responses from readers from many walks of life, giving them hope and helping them to realize that no matter how alone they might feel they always have a guardian angel by their side.

I am a 55 year old wife and mother of seven children. My husband is also one of seven children. Isn't that ironic? I live in Las Vegas, Nevada. What the world calls "Sin City." Yes, people actually do live here! This is my first book, and I have been in the ministry for over 20 years. I come from a troubled family, I am one of three children, I have two brothers. This book is written under inspiration, and is based on my real life experiences with angels. They are real and very powerful. They are messengers from God. The Prophets in the Old Testament received messages from God by the Angels. Psalm 91:11 states "For he shall give his Angels charge over you, to keep you in all of your ways." We have Angels to help us through all of our life struggles; but we must learn how to make use of them. I hope this book will help everyone to make use of the power that we possess.

This narrative documentary portrays the life of a thirteen-year-old girl who breaks out of an abusive environment by escaping the grasp of a tyrannical stepmother who had victimized her and seven of her siblings for many years. Except for the people who made her escape possible, she was essentially on her own as she worked her way through high school. After working for a year as a private secretary in a civil service position, she was encouraged to apply for a scholarship to the University of Illinois. A second scholarship and a secretarial position at the university made it possible for her to acquire a bachelors degree in speech pathology and to graduate debt free in four years. She continued her education during a busy career and earned a masters degree in speech and language pathology from Northwestern University. By rising above what she considered to be a lost childhood, she manages to have a successful career along with marriage and a family. It appears that this author never looked down after leaving a childhood of abuse, compounded by the problems of the Great Depression. Those who encouraged her along the way are acknowledged as the angels in her life. Through these special mentors she meets movie stars and Hollywood moguls in the west and through her marriage to a naval officer she meets military and foreign dignitaries in Washington, D.C. Throughout this story, success and happiness in this family are often eclipsed by poignant periods of sadness, but only to rise again as their upbeat spirits prevail. Although the author is the central figure in this memoir, her eight siblings contribute immensely to the central theme of this story the will to survive and succeed. They beat the odds against the oft-quoted premise that growing up in violence will perpetuate violence. This story was written to provide insight into the problem of child abuse. Along with this moving commentary and narration, helpful information is provided for everyone working with children and young adults laymen and professionals alike.

It is 1936 and Jesse Owens is poised for victory. Berlin is on full display. Hitler is firmly in control. Six-year-old Jutta Bolle relishes Owens's victory and the excitement of the Olympics. But the darkness is already engulfing Jutta's world as her family confronts the evil of Hitler. Each year brings more unimagined hardships and heartbreaks until finally, in 1945, bombs destroy what remains of Berlin and fifteen-year-old Jutta and her father run for their lives. The Russians are coming. In a matter of days Berlin will be surrounded, unleashing a new round of misery. Angels in the Darkness tells the dramatic true story of the Bolles' struggle to survive the tyranny of Hitler's government, a war they did not believe in, and the subsequent brutal occupation of their home and city by the Russians. Ultimately, it is the story of the strength of will over forces beyond our control, and of a young girl's admiration for the Americans who liberate her city, bringing hope and the promise of freedom. About the Author Lisa Farringer Parker is a successful attorney and author. A former professor of writing at Arizona State University, she has appeared on CNN and is a regular contributor to the Arizona Republic. She lives in Paradise Valley, Arizona, with her husband, Vernon B. Parker, the former mayor, and her two children. Jutta Bolle is her mother.
