This publication presents an economic analysis of the metal mining sector in British Columbia. It begins with an overview of mine development at three scales of operation and the sensitivities (environmental, social, economic) associated with mine development. It then provides estimates or information on investment requirements, infrastructure requirements, the markets for metals or their concentrates and the value of production, labour force requirements, resource capacity, regulatory requirements, and government revenue impacts. The final section shows economic inputs & outputs for components of the British Columbia mining industry.
