The Digitalis Purpurea is placed by Linnaeus in the class of didynamia, and order of angiospermia. Botanical Description. The foxglove grows to the height of four or five feet, with an erect and tapering stalk. The leaves are large, hairy, oblong, and pointed. Their colour is a dark dusky green, approximating to brown.
