This conference proceedings volume contains survey and research articles on topics of current interest written by leading international experts. The topic of the symposium was ``Interactions of Algebraic Geometry, Hodge Theory, and Logarithmic Geometry from the Viewpoint of Degenerations''. The book contains four surveys on 1) pencils of algebraic curves by T. Ashikaga and K. Konno; 2) integral $p$-adic Hodge theory by C. Breuil; 3) Hodge-Arakelov theory of elliptic curves by S.Mochizuki; and 4) refined cycle maps by S. Saito. Also included are two results by Gabber on absolute purity theorem written by K. Fujiwara and research articles on the Picard-Lefschetz formula by L. Illusie, moduli spaces of rational elliptic surfaces by G. Heckman and E. Looijenga, moduli of curves ofgenus 4 by S. Kondo, and logarithmic Hodge theory by K. Kato, C. Nakayama, and S. Usui and its application to geometry by S. Saito. The volume is intended for researchers interested in algebraic geometry, particularly in the study of families of algebraic varieties and Hodge structures. Several important aspects of moduli spaces and irreducible holomorphic symplectic manifolds were highlighted at the conference “Algebraic and Complex Geometry” held September 2012 in Hannover, Germany. These two subjects of recent ongoing progress belong to the most spectacular developments in Algebraic and Complex Geometry. Irreducible symplectic manifolds are of interest to algebraic and differential geometers alike, behaving similar to K3 surfaces and abelian varieties in certain ways, but being by far less well-understood. Moduli spaces, on the other hand, have been a rich source of open questions and discoveries for decades and still continue to be a hot topic in itself as well as with its interplay with neighbouring fields such as arithmetic geometry and string theory. Beyond the above focal topics this volume reflects the broad diversity of lectures at the conference and comprises 11 papers on current research from different areas of algebraic and complex geometry sorted in alphabetic order by the first author. It also includes a full list of speakers with all titles and abstracts.

This volume comprises lecture notes, survey and research articles originating from the CIMPA Summer School Arithmetic and Geometry around Hypergeometric Functions held at Galatasaray University, Istanbul, June 13-25, 2005. It covers a wide range of topics related to hypergeometric functions, thus giving a broad perspective of the state of the art in the field.

This volume contains the proceedings of the 17th International Conference on Arithmetic, Geometry, Cryptography and Coding Theory (AGC2T-17), held from June 10–14, 2019, at the Centre International de Rencontres Mathématiques in Marseille, France. The conference was dedicated to the memory of Gilles Lachaud, one of the founding fathers of the AGC2T series. Since the first meeting in 1987 the biennial AGC2T meetings have brought together the leading experts on arithmetic and algebraic geometry, and the connections to coding theory, cryptography, and algorithmic complexity. This volume highlights important new developments in the field.

This is Part 2 of a two-volume set. Since Oscar Zariski organized a meeting in 1954, there has been a major algebraic geometry meeting every decade: Woods Hole (1964), Arcata (1974), Bowdoin (1985), Santa Cruz (1995), and Seattle (2005). The American Mathematical Society has supported these summer institutes for over 50 years. Their proceedings volumes have been extremely influential, summarizing the state of algebraic geometry at the time and pointing to future developments. The most recent Summer Institute in Algebraic Geometry was held July 2015 at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, sponsored by the AMS with the collaboration of the Clay Mathematics Institute. This volume includes surveys growing out of plenary lectures and seminar talks during the meeting. Some present a broad overview of their topics, while others develop a distinctive perspective on an emerging topic. Topics span both complex algebraic geometry and arithmetic questions, specifically, analytic techniques, enumerative geometry, moduli theory, derived categories, birational geometry, tropical geometry, Diophantine questions, geometric representation theory, characteristic and -adic tools, etc. The resulting articles will be important references in these areas for years to come.

This book focusses on a large class of objects in moduli theory and provides different perspectives from which compactifications of moduli spaces may be investigated. Three contributions give an insight on particular aspects of moduli problems. In the first of them, various ways to construct and compactify moduli spaces are presented. In the second, some questions on the boundary of moduli spaces of surfaces are addressed. Finally, the theory of stable quotients is explained, which yields meaningful compactifications of moduli spaces of maps. Both advanced graduate students and researchers in algebraic geometry will find this book a valuable read.

The papers in this volume cover many important topics of current interest in partial differential equations and several complex variables. An international group of well-known mathematicians has contributed original research articles on diverse topics such as the geometry of complex manifolds, the mean curvature equation, formal solutions of singular partial differential equations, and complex vector fields. The material in this volume is useful for graduate students and researchers interested in partial differential equations and several complex variables.

This handbook offers a compilation of techniques and results in K-theory. Each chapter is dedicated to a specific topic and is written by a leading expert. Many chapters present historical background; some present previously unpublished results, whereas some present the first expository account of a topic; many discuss future directions as well as open problems. It offers an exposition of our current state of knowledge as well as an implicit blueprint for future research.
