Papers associated with Bishop Lee are mostly correspondence with Bishop William Rollinson Whittingham during Lee's episcopate. One letter, written shortly before Lee's election as Bishop, 1841, declines a position in Maryland and describes his situation in Calvary Church, Rockdale, Pa. Among later subjects are general accounts of the state of the Episcopal Church in Delaware, business of the diocese, many clergy matters, opposition to the reinstatement of Bishop Benjamin T. Onderdonk in New York, and Bishop Whittingham's difficulties with Christ Church, Baltimore, 1850. Two letters concern Civil War events in Maryland and praise Whittingham's stand for the Union. Numerous papers relate to Lee's part in the Mexican Commission of the House of Bishops in the 1870s. There are also references to missions in Cuba and Haiti.
