Similar to the storyline of the film, Meltrek: Exploring Ancient, a group of children (Bunchie, Percy, Michelle, Jessie and Chen) travel back in time to explore pre-diaspora Africa. During their journey, they learn about the history, culture and achievements of various African civilizations. The storybook contains a glossary that not only provides definitions of the highlighted terms in the book, but also gives additional details not included in the main text. The author provides a bibliography to make readers aware of the sources used to produce this educational children's storybook.
