The #1 New York Times bestseller. Over 20 million copies sold! Translated into 60+ languages! Tiny Changes, Remarkable Results No matter your goals, Atomic Habits offers a proven framework for improving--every day. James Clear, one of the world's leading experts on habit formation, reveals practical strategies that will teach you exactly how to form good habits, break bad ones, and master the tiny behaviors that lead to remarkable results. If you're having trouble changing your habits, the problem isn't you. The problem is your system. Bad habits repeat themselves again and again not because you don't want to change, but because you have the wrong system for change. You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems. Here, you'll get a proven system that can take you to new heights. Clear is known for his ability to distill complex topics into simple behaviors that can be easily applied to daily life and work. Here, he draws on the most proven ideas from biology, psychology, and neuroscience to create an easy-to-understand guide for making good habits inevitable and bad habits impossible. Along the way, readers will be inspired and entertained with true stories from Olympic gold medalists, award-winning artists, business leaders, life-saving physicians, and star comedians who have used the science of small habits to master their craft and vault to the top of their field. Learn how to: make time for new habits (even when life gets crazy); overcome a lack of motivation and willpower; design your environment to make success easier; get back on track when you fall off course; ...and much more. Atomic Habits will reshape the way you think about progress and success, and give you the tools and strategies you need to transform your habits--whether you are a team looking to win a championship, an organization hoping to redefine an industry, or simply an individual who wishes to quit smoking, lose weight, reduce stress, or achieve any other goal.

Goal 4 of the National Education Goals envisions that teachers will have access to programs for the continued improvement of their professional skills. This book examines what federal agencies are doing to enhance teacher preparation, presents information on career-long development, and offers program descriptions and contact names. The first section of the book introduces the subjects of professional development and federal assistance and describes formula and discretionary grant programs. The second section, which comprises most of the book, provides information on programs administered by the U.S. Departments of Education, Agriculture, Commerce, Defense, Energy, Health and Human Services, the Interior, Justice, Transportation, and Veterans Affairs, and by independent agencies (Environmental Protection Agency, NASA, National Endowment for the Arts, National Endowment for the Humanities, National Science Foundation, and the Smithsonian Institution). Nine appendices list additional sources of assistance; Appendix 10 provides a report of the Goal 4 Resource Group. (SM)

In 1996, Getting America's Students Ready for the 21st Century: Meeting the Technology Literacy ChallengeÓ was released. Although new technological innovations have transformed American Life, our schools are still a step behind. Only 4% of schools have a computer for every 5 students & only 9% of classrooms are connected to the Internet. This report compiles many of the technology-in-education programs in the Federal government in one place for the first time. These resources provide a wealth of information for schools & school districts that seek to expand their technology base.

This book defines ‘sustainable development’, setting out the launch of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) from their inception in January 2011 to their operationalization in September 2015. It maps the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and their targets to the SDGs and their respective targets. Nine SDGs are classified on the basis of the mapping exercise as proceeding from the MDGs, and eight as new Goals. One of the nine SDGs (SDG 1) is the subject of a ‘Continuation Microstudy’, the structure for which is also used for the ‘Continuation Macrostudy’ that assesses the others from this group for punctual achievement. One of the eight new Goals (SDG 10) is the subject of a ‘New Ground Microstudy’, the structure for which is condensed into a ‘New Ground Macrostudy’ that evaluates the other new Goals for punctual accomplishment. The book will be useful to students of development finance and economics, policy-makers in the area of sustainable development, and members of the public who are interested in the world around us and in sustainable development, in particular.
