"Jesus loves me. This I know, for the Bible tells me so." For many of us, this sweet song brings back memories of childhood and church. It's simple and it's simply true. Abba Father's Lullaby is just that. It's the simple truth of our redemption told to a child in verse. The story of the Father's love for them that began "Even before He made the world" (Ephesians 1:4, NLT). Scripture says Father loved us and chose us in Christ and decided from the beginning to adopt us into His own family. "The pleasure and the fullness of the Father's heart" (Abba Father's Lullaby). Shortly before the birth of Elizabeth's last granddaughter, a dear friend suggested that she take this precious one in her arms and tenderly dedicate her to the Lord and then, whispering softly in the baby's ear, tell her the story of redemption. On September 8, 2013, Elizabeth did just that, but she got hopelessly lost in the details of our redemption. This was one story she wanted to get right but where to start? Then she remembered a teaching on God's love for us given by one of her professors at Charis Bible College. Professor Meintjes said, "Before the world began, you were His [The Father's] plan and intension. You were always God's creation. The love of God is the key that opens everything." (August 3, 2013). Abba Father's Lullaby was born out of the desire for all children, big and small, to know that they are loved.

God calls us all ‘home’, meaning to find our rest, peace, joy and love in Him. No matter what we have done or what has been done to us, we can always return to God like the prodigal son. It is never too late. God is full of compassion, mercy and grace. His love calls us home for He wants to make a home within us. For those in whom God makes a home, they shall experience His love, joy, peace, strength and contentment. One understands that for some it is not easy to “buy into the idea” that God is good, a loving Father, and His home is beautiful, and without suffering. Yet, the truth will not alter or change because God is good, He is kind, He is love and He wants all of us to experience His grace. We have all been created by God.

Caterina Cammino is an attractive and reclusive thirty-five-year-old woman whose nightly ritual is to go to the beach and drink wine from the bar of her car. Though alcohol is her crutch and companion, it cant erase the memory of the summer of 1988 when she lost her innocence--and awoke to a scream. Tyler Beck is an intellectually gifted eighteen-year-old loner who has an invisible, magical cord above his right shoulder; he is also a former drug addict who was rehabilitated with the help of a counselor named Robie. After Robie dies, however, a distraught Beck exits his friends funeral and seeks refuge at the beachand in heroin. Their lives collide when Caterinas car strikes a trashcan that crashes into the semi-conscious Beck. When they both ask aloud for help, the grieving parts of themselves are transported to another dimension called 10-17. Caterina arrives in this dimension as her seventeen-year-old self, Cat, and there she meets Beck, whom she nicknames Ty. Once in this new world, set against a backdrop of Italy, they meet a Watcher named Miranda who tells them that they are in 10-17 for healing, even while their parallel lives are continuing on Earth. Miranda explains that the dimensions are spaced like slats on a window blind; she also tells the teenagers about a place called Thare, an Earth-like dimension populated by humans, but without suffering or addiction. While Beck readily embraces his love for the mature Caterina, she is conflicted over her feelings for a man half her age. Meanwhile, in Dimension 10-17, as Cat and Ty complete their lesson, they are torn over the choice that Miranda offers them: To go to the perfect world of Thare and leave the Earth and their families behind, or to return wholly to their Earthly selves...
