Thus I have witnessed the manifestation of pain as acute from the penetration of an inflamed bone by a saw or trephine as from the incisions of inflamed soft parts. We Observe, moreover, the granula: tions from diseased bone participating in' the morbid sensibility of' its tissue. Such being the vital properties of bone, it IS very liable to disease and its diseases are many, when compared with the diseases of muscle, tendon, or nerve, or indeed of any other organ or tissue.
