Excerpt from A Tangled Tale This Tale originally appeared as a serial in The Monthly Packet, beginning in April, 1880. The writer's intention was to embody in each Knot (like the medicine so dexterously, but inefi'ectually, concealed in the jam of our early childhood) one or more mathematical questions - in Arithmetic, Algebra, or Geometry, as the case might be - for the amusement, and possible edification, of the fair readers of that Magazine. This is the extended and annotated edition including * an extensive biographical annotation about the author and his life * all the original illustrations A Tangled Tale is a collection of ten brief humorous stories by Lewis Carroll (Charles Lutwidge Dodgson), published serially between April 1880 and March 1885 in The Monthly Packet magazine. Arthur B. Frost added illustrations when the series was printed in book form. The stories, or Knots as Carroll calls them, present mathematical problems. In a later issue, Carroll gives the solution to a Knot and discusses readers' answers. The mathematical interpretations of the Knots are not always straightforward. The ribbing of readers answering wrongly — giving their names — was not always well received. (from wikipedia)

Tangled: The Series on Disney Channel is set between the events of the original film and the start of Tangled Ever After. The series follows the long-locked Rapunzel (voiced by Mandy Moore) as she acquaints herself with her parents, her kingdom, and the people of Corona. Realizing there is much more she needs to learn before she can truly accept her royal destiny, Rapunzel puts her crown--and her marriage--on hold to seek out epic adventures, much to the dismay of her father, the King. Accompanying Rapunzel on her journey is the charming Eugene (voiced by Zachary Levi); the plucky chameleon sidekick, Pascal; the no-nonsense horse, Maximus; the Snuggly Duckling pub thugs; and newcomer Cassandra, a tough-as-nails handmaiden who becomes Rapunzel's confidante. Two favorite episodes of Disney Channel's hit show Tangled: The Series are retold in each collectible chapter book with black-and-white illustrations throughout. They're perfect for adventure-loving kids and Disney Princess fans ages 6 to 9. The long blond hair is back in Disney Tangled: The Series, an animated series that continues the fantastic adventures of Rapunzel and Eugene that began in Disney's 50th animated classic, Tangled.

"A modern-day classic."—Ron Charles, Washington Post “A spectacular invention.”—The New York Times "Compulsively readable."—NPR Things do not bode well for Father Julius. . . A street preacher decked out in denim robes and running shoes, Julius is a source of inspiration for a community that knows nothing of his scandalous origins. But when a nearby mental hospital releases its patients to run amok in his neighborhood, his trusted if bedraggled flock turns expectantly to Julius to find out what’s going on. Amid the descending chaos, Julius encounters a hospital escapee who babbles prophecies of doom, and the growing palpable sense of impending danger intensifies . . . as does the feeling that everyone may be relying on a street preacher just a little too much. Still, Julius decides he must confront the forces that threaten his congregation—including the peculiar followers of a religious cult, the mysterious men and women dressed all in red seen fleetingly amid the bedlam, and an enigmatic smoking figure who seems to know what’s going to happen just before it does. The Revisionaries is a wildly imaginative, masterfully rendered, and suspenseful tale that conjures the bold outlandish stylishness of Thomas Pynchon, Margaret Atwood, and Alan Moore—while being unlike anything that’s come before.
