I have availed myself especially of the wqs of Soemmering, Mekel, Chaussier, Bichat, and the Lectures of Desault. Convinced of the accuracy and importance of the division and physiology of the nerves, discovered by Mr. Charles Bell, I have followed his views, and endeavoured to adopt a nomenclature in conformity with his system.
