What has the field of psychology got to do with the Bible? Can it shed light on certain events in the Bible? Does it undermine the Bible and the teachings therein? Are there any secular psychology publications that can affirm Biblical events or teachings? Can psychology be used as an evangelistic tool? And has psychology been abused to justify unbiblical practices and concepts like demonology? As knowledge in the sciences grow, unbiblical interpretations flooded and will continue to flood the various disciplines. Psychology is a field that can study and affirm biblical teachings in areas where the other sciences cannot. To show this, the articles in the book leverage on modern day psychology understanding to illustrate the effects of the Fall and its effects on our understanding of God’s Word. Topics include the “Psychology of Evil”, introspection, and psychological understanding of languages, all to show how the Word of God, as recorded in the preserved texts of the Holy Scriptures, can be applied to our lives. Most importantly, the articles also aim to highlight that it is only with the Scriptures, can psychological findings make sense. The articles in the book expand on certain concepts and arguments previously mentioned in the previous books by the author: “A Practical Guide to the Logic, Philosophy, and Thoughts of Christianity”, “Another Practical Guide to the Logic, Philosophy, and Thoughts of Christianity”, as well as “A Guide to the Biblical Lands: Jordan and Israel”.

How many ways are there to approach life? Who is trying to get you to buy into their view of the world? And what do they have to gain by convincing you they are "right?" In his book Naked Guide To Life And Death author David Jon Peckinpaugh seeks to unmask the attempts to convince us that things are a certain way, according to how the so-called "experts" see the world, often resulting in a far more narrow and limited perspective than one might initially suppose. His main thesis is that expertise of all kinds can result in our being seduced into knowing something as being so, when it, in fact, is not nearly so evident as the experts tend to make it seem. In throwing off the veil of religion and science, psychology and philosophy, consumerism and commercialism, Mr. Peckinpaugh performs an endearing service on behalf of us all, humanity. Suggesting that beyond the often contracted and tight spaces of expertise, hence, extremism, there are wide open spaces still inviting to those who dare to entertain the wisdom of not-knowing.

Hong Xiao examines the linkage between social structure and child-rearing values in the United States and China. Her primary objectives are to examine the underlying structure of childrearing values, discover the dynamics of the structural-level, family-level, and individual-level determinants of childrearing values, and to compare patterns of value orientations in the two countries. Three value dimensions--autonomy, conformity, and a care orientation--are identified in both the United States and China samples via factor analyses. Furthermore, despite cross-national differences in political system, economic development, and culture history, Professor Xiao finds Americans and Chinese are quite similar in their thinking of the kinds of things to teach children at home. Among the top six qualities endorsed within each country, five are identical. However, sources of value variations are drastically different in the two countries. For example, in the United States, while the influence of class on men's values for children has become muted overtime, class differences in values continue to exist among women. And neither gender nor motherhood is related to the care orientation. In China, valuation of children's autonomy or conformity is conditioned heavily by political conformity, age, and family size. Of particular interest to scholars, students, and other researchers involved with gender and family studies, sociology, and Asian Studies.

The current controversy over the Bible's text and translations is creating confusing division within the ranks of Fundamentalism. A mass of m isinformation fuels the debate. Scores of men realize the enormous errors being popularized but hesitate to engender further debate by speaking out. The confusion, however, is now so pervasive within Fundamentalism that the true, biblical and historical facts on the text, transmission, and translations of Scripture must be restated in layman's terms. These facts argue eloquently for the unity, not the division of God's people on these issues.
