Monographs on various periods of our state history are equipped with lists of sources, but there are several gaps, notably in the period of the War between the States. The present book-list, partially annotated, is intended as a preliminary survey, and in no sense claims to cover the field. An effort has been made to select only the more important sources and secondary accounts, so far as they are known to me. Of many omissions I am aware. Georgia history is, of course, treated in all the more comprehensive histories of the United States. These works are not here listed.
