No one ever plans to fail in their faith. We all think we'll be the kind of Christian who follows the straight and narrow, ending our days with the relief of knowing we were ultimately a good and faithful servant. So why do so many leave that road? What enables some to survive as Christians when so many others have faltered? With A Christian Survival Guide, Ed Cyzewski steps up to be your trail guide and provide some possible answers. He addresses some of the biggest, toughest questions in Christianity, including: - Disturbing Bible stories - Hell and what it means - Does the Bible have to be "true"? - The question of evil- Money and the church- Evangelizing when no one wants to listen Candid and wry, Cyzewski deals with the tension of hard questions without resorting to empty answers, cliches, relativism, or the smug certainty that can so often drive seekers and strugglers further away. This popular blogger also has a knack of making long-ago biblical figures absolutely recognizable in today's issues. This survival guide is not meant to be a "one size fits all" handbook. It is a first step to confronting the big issues and challenges of a life of faith--even the ones that Christians fear most. Cyzewski writes for those who both care and question deeply, and offers survival tips to help readers move from living on the edge to a place of health and life.

This mini book will provide you with seven steps along the path of righteousness; encouraging Christians that God is with them no matter what. Even though this Christian Survival Guide is short, it will provide readers with a taste of the kind of books I am writing to encourage the body of Christ today; as we prepare for the Second Coming of Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. The first step to Christian survival will consider that God wants to restore those who may have been going through difficult times in their lives. It's very easy for a Christian to loose their spiritual edge, especially if they have been going through circumstances that have required all their attention. We shall consider how to rely more on God to motivate our spirituality in these last days of time. The second step to Christian survival will focus on how to exercise patience and love towards those in our churches and fellowships; those who may not conform to the way that we do things in the Kingdom of God. In this chapter we shall consider how to exercise patience and love rather than being overly critical and judgemental towards those in need of help and guidance in their lives. The third step towards Christian survival will evaluate the difference between judgment and spiritual discernment. In the first half of this chapter we shall consider how to correctly judge one another. In the second half of this chapter we shall consider the need to use discernment when facing some of the false doctrines that are invading our churches today. The forth step to Christian survival will discuss how to be led by the Holy Spirit, rather than adhering to a legalistic code of practice that many churches observe today. Christianity is not about observing some specific doctrine or even looking good before others, it's about obeying God and experiencing the leading of the Holy Spirit in our individual lives; even though that leading may be different to how God leads other people in their day-to-day walk with him. The fifth step to Christian survival will analyse the correct appropriation of God's grace in our lives. We need grace to help us seek God until he sets us free from the temptations and sins that plague many christians today; something that cannot be achieved through the observance of some law telling us that we should not sin. The penultimate key to Christian survival will attempt to gain an understanding between faith and works; works will not bring us to Christ. However, faith without works is dead. Therefore, we shall consider the right balance that we need to achieve between faith and works. The final step to Christian survival will discuss the need to be prepared to let God change us from vessels of dishonour into vessels of honour; fit for the Master's use. God is able to do this by allowing many of us to pass through various trails and difficulties that affect people today. Rather than running away from such trials and tribulations, God may be trying to speak to us and change us more into the image of his Son Jesus Christ. It is my prayer that this short book will encourage you to face whatever it is that comes against your life, and turn it into something good that will benefit both you and the Kingdom of God at the same time (Genesis 50:20).

Bulletproof Faith is filled with useful insights and proven spiritual practices that deflect attacks and enhance and strengthen faith by turning attacks into opportunities for spiritual growth. Praise for Bulletproof Faith "Gay and lesbian Christians are constantly demoralized and told they are not children of God. In Bulletproof Faith, Chellew-Hodge reassures gays and lesbians that God loves them just as they were created and teaches them how to stand strong, with compassion and gentleness, against those who condemn them." —Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu "It is an amazing truth that gay and lesbian Christians need to develop a bulletproof faith in order to survive the attack of other Christians. That, however, is the experience of many homosexual persons. Candace Chellew-Hodge has in this book committed herself to the task of making that survival a reality. I salute her and her work." —John Shelby Spong, author, Jesus for the Non-Religious "We know the Religious Right is wrong about same-sex relationships and it's time to move on. But how to withstand their relentless attacks and find lasting peace of soul? Candace Chellew-Hodge offers a practical guide. It met me right where I am. It will touch and help heal many others, too." —Daniel A. Helminiak, professor of psychology, University of West Georgia, and author, What the Bible Really Says About Homosexuality

This book addresses the many problems that most Christians face in the world today, and provides a Spiritual solution to help navigate the moral decay in the world. This book also looks at past Church cultures and teachings to help provide solutions for current problems in today's society: There are currently more Christian cults in the United States of America than at any other time in the history of this great country of ours and many people are now simply walking away from God. We must all "give diligence to make your calling and election sure: " in these last and evil days! (2nd Peter 1:10) These Christian based written narratives will come to life with the graphically designed pictures that will help you to pain a picture in your mind concerning the Biblical themes in these stories. WINNER OF THE WORD GUILD 2019 CHRISTIAN LIVING BOOK OF THE YEAR AWARD "The pages you are about to read may feel like a literal rescue." —Ann Voskamp, New York Times Bestselling author Survival Guide for the Soul is a profound spiritual exploration of God's love—a love that many of us understand intellectually without fully grasping or relying on in our day-to-day experiences—a love that fills our sails with joy and frees us to truly flourish. Many of us are driven by an ambition to accomplish something big outside ourselves. On all sides, we're pressured to achieve—professionally, socially, financially. Even when we're aware of this pressure, it can be hard to escape the vicious circles of accomplishment, frustration, and spiritual burn-out. Drawing on a wide range of sources from Scripture to church history to psychology and modern neuroscience—as well as deeply personal stories from his own life—Ken Shigematsu, recipient of the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal and pastor of Tenth Church in Vancouver, BC, vividly demonstrates how the gospel redeems our desires and reorders our lives. Pastor Shigematsu offers fresh perspective on how certain spiritual practices help orient our lives so that our souls can flourish in the midst of a demanding, competitive society. And he concludes with a liberating and counter-cultural definition of true greatness. If you long to experience a deeper relationship with Christ within the daily pressures to succeed, Survival Guide for the Soul is packed with biblical wisdom and a godly approach to transcend the human tendency to define ourselves by our productivity and success. "Loaded with practical insights and encouraging thoughts, every reader will benefit from Ken's work." —Max Lucado, New York Times Bestselling author

Some of the questions asked and answered in THE YOUNG CHRISTIAN'S SURVIVAL GUIDE are “You claim the Bible is inspired because it says it is, right (2 Tim. 3:16)? Isn’t that circular reasoning?” “You claim the Bible was inspired, but there was no inspired list of which books that is true of. So how can we know which ones to trust?” “With so many different copies of manuscripts that have 400,000+ variants (errors), how can we even know what the Bible says?” “Why can’t the people who wrote the four Gospels get their story straight?” “Didn’ t the Council of Nicaea just arbitrarily pick the books for the Bible that they agreed with and suppress all the rest with political power?” “People used to believe in miracles because they didn’t understand science. Don’t we know better than that now?” “That a man rose from the dead takes a lot of believing. How could you ever have enough evidence for a belief like that?”. “Science has proved that human beings evolved over millions of years rather than being created in six days. Why are you still clinging to ancient myths?” “Just because the Bible is true for you, why does that make it true for me?” “How can you base your modern life on a book that was written for a primitive culture?” “Doesn’ t the Bible support genocide?”. “Doesn’t the Bible support racism?”. "Doesn’t the Bible support slavery?" “Doesn’t the Bible support homophobia?”. “Doesn’t the Bible support the oppression and abuse of women?”. “There are so many religions, all sincerely seeking the same goal. What makes you Christians so arrogant that you think yours is the only way?”. “What about those who have never heard the Gospel?”. “If God is a God of love, why did he let my loved one die?”. “How can it be just for God to impose an infinite punishment (Hell forever) for finite sins?” These questions will be asked and answered with reasonable, rational, Scriptural answers.
