There were 60 ministers. Present, representing members of Methodist societies from Virginia to New J ersey.40 Wesley's abridged Thirty-nine Articles of the Church of England became the doctrinal statement of the new church. Wesley also altered The Book of Common Prayer which was adopted. Modifications were made in matters of discipline, and an annual salary of $64 was fixed for the unmarried Methodist itinerant.
