"This interim report on federal funds in Missouri provides background information to the legislature for its use in consideration of any legislation which might affect amounts or types of intergovernmental aid. The report includes information on the growth and distribution of federal funds in Missouri, a description of the types of federal spending, an assessment of the dependency of state and local governments in Missouri on federal funds, a look at the now phased-out Federal Revenue Sharing program in Missouri, and a brief discussion of the difficulties in tracking, much less controlling, federal funds flowing into Missouri, as well as county by county break outs of federal funds is reported by the 1987 Consolidated Federal Funds Report, which were prepared by the Office of Social and Economic Data Analysis of the University of Missouri-Columbia"--Study definition and scope.
