John S. Hickox (1820-1853) was a son of Seaman Hickox II and Hannah Yants or Youts (who lived in Trumbull and Lorin Counties in Ohio), and a grandson of Seaman Hickox I (b.1771/1775) who married Rafille Curtis in 1792. John S. was born in New York or Ohio, and married Mahala Jane Adams in 1838 in Edgar County, Illinois. Descendants and relatives lived in Ohio, Indiana, Illinois, South Dakota, Kentucky, Missouri, Kansas, Texas, Arizona, California and elsewhere.

Philip Peter Visinard was born in Germany in 1684. He married Allena Neff in 1710 and in 1731 he brought his wife and two of his sons to America settling in Pennsylvania. Later his descendants moved to North Carolina and on to Indiana and later further west. Information on many of his descendants who later changed their names to various forms of Whisnsant are included in this book along with some families which can not be positively connected to this family. Several children's lines are followed giving as much information was readily available or submitted. Descendants now live in North Carolina, Georgia, Texas, Oklahoma, and elsewhere throughout the United States.

Michael Katz/Catts, Jr. (b.1720) was the son of Michael Katz/Catts, Sr. They emigrated to the colonies from the Palatinate on the ship "Snow Fox" in 1738 and landed at the Port of Philadelphia. Michael, Jr. married Anna Maria Mohr, probable daughter of Phillip Mohr in 1743. Their son Philip Catt (b.1750) was born near present day Moorefield, Hardy Co., West Virginia. Another descendant, Johannes Katz/John Catt married Catherine Mason, daughter of John Mason, Sr. and his wife Apolonia. Their son Johannes, Jr. (b.1787) was born in Fayette Co., Pennsylvania and was baptized at Masontown. Another son, Michael Catt (b.1794) was also born at Masontown. They were the parents of several other children. Later, family members were living in German Twp., Mason Co., Kentucky. Several generations of descendants are given.
