This book was written to inform, equip, revolutionize, empower, and mobilize the Disciples of Jesus Christ. It will also bring to light the present status of discipleship in our churches today; offer real biblical solutions to restore our right relationship with Jesus Christ; and help to regain our effectiveness as Christian disciples in this present world. It is therefore imperative to know the correct structure and mission of the church in order for us to be prepared to make a difference in this corrupt and sinful world. I am not in any way introducing a new religion, new denomination, or another doctrine. This is a comprehensive study of Christian discipleship, and it reveals truths that some pastors and other religious leaders may not want you to know. After his reading of this book, a young minister said that he realized he was raised in this generation to believe that the present system of operation in many churches today is considered to be normal. He now recognizes that the "Doctrine of the Nicolaitans" (Revelations 2) fully exists today in the church. This system along with the teachings of the "The Shepherding Movement," have significantly reduced if not crippled, the effectiveness of many Disciples of Christ. Many disciples have unconsciously surrendered their rights and authority to their pastors and religious leaders. They have been trained to become servants of their denominations and its' leaders and not followers of Jesus Christ. People who are educated with the truth cannot be bullied, controlled or intimidated because they know their authority and rights, and will not surrender them to others. Christian discipleship is not an option for believers in Christ, but a way of life. When we chose to believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him, we became His disciples, that is, Christian disciples. He became our Lord and we belong to Him. Christian discipleship is a key element that demonstrates one's love and devotion to God and all people, and helps us to discipline our lives in ways that would help people, and bring honor and glory to God. So, get out of your dark dungeon, open your hearts and minds, and let us prayerfully step through the pages of the bible together as we will begin to recognize who we really are, and also to get to "know our rights and authority as disciples of Jesus Christ."

The story of Jesus interacting with the Emmaus disciples after his resurrection provides an outline for what a gospel-centered kids ministry looks like: gospel-centered teaching that points to Jesus in every session, gospel-centered transformation that positions the gospel to change a child's heart and then his or her behavior, and gospel-centered mission where kids join in on the big story of Jesus that continues to unfold. Seven out of ten kids will walk away from church after they turn eighteen. About five will return when they have families of their own. But two will never return. Clearly, something isn’t connecting with our kids. As kids ministry leaders, we need to take a hard look at what we are missing in our kids ministries and provide kids the one thing that will satisfy them and keep them connected to the church—the gospel. Gospel-Centered Kids Ministry also addresses how to communicate with and encourage gospel-centered leaders and parents as part of your ministry.
