Finalist from 2017 The Wishing Shelf Book Awards My aim was to create a compilation of facts suitable for children. This book will entice them into reading and learning new stuff while having fun. I created the popular trivia website RaiseYourBrain and wrote two trivia books so far. As I was new to writing for kids, my son Pavel (aged 8) helped me very much. He reads a lot and really loves learning new things every day. Pavel proudly illustrated the book and helped me to handpick and order the facts. The book contains 600+ pieces of trivia and is covering topics that kids love: cute animals and human body. The lack of explicit sexuality, foul language or gore makes it a good read for anyone in the age range 8-18 years (and their parents too;) ). A life hack if your child is NOT an avid reader: when you are preparing his/her lunch box, slip inside a couple of those facts. You could print out three facts every day to create some lunchtime fun for your kids and provoke their intellectual curiosity.

"The funniest book of the year" Are you sick of a society that seems obsessed with children? Do you find modern parents insufferable? Your Children Are Boring is a uniquely humorous look at our culture's obsession with children, a world where virtually every advert has a squawking child in it, where pubs are full of wailing infants, and where every other Facebook post is tagged #ProudDad. Why do parents themselves behave like infants? Why having a child doesn't make you less selfish, why it's extremely unlikely that your child is in fact, 'special', and why modern parenting is ruining everything, not least the kids themselves. All the answers lie within, and it's your duty to read it. Yes, Your Children Are Boring will make you laugh, but it's much more than that. Once consumed you must take its teachings into the world and fix society. Or something. Oh and if you put 'Dad' or 'Mum' in your social media bios, this book is aimed at you. An excerpt from Your Children Are Boring: "There are more radical solutions available to us of course. I take my lead from the way we've societally turned smokers into pariahs at pubs. Let's create family areas in the pubs! Imagine, roped off areas out the back, covered in sick, where the tables are made of plastic rather than wood, soundproofed so we don't have to listen to you loudly slow-talking, or the baby crying. Or you could just go to McDonalds, which is where the kids want to be anyway. And that's another thing; does anyone think these kids want to go to a pub? They're not renowned for their rides and pits of plastic balls. But perhaps that's just a matter of time. We'll inevitably infantilise getting smashed like we seem intent on doing to everything else. You want it all don't you, your spoilt little brain thinks, 'I've had a child, but that doesn't mean I should modify my life. I still want pub, so baby come to pub!' Kids should be, and probably are, bored out of their tiny minds at pubs. It's where grown-ups go to bitch about their friends' new kitchen or boyfriend / girlfriend, not a playground, that's why they're full of glass, fruit machines and sharp edges. If we can be a little melodramatic though, you're a virus. You're ruining pubs like you ruined football and the cinema, colonising it like the most boring invading army in history armed with iPhones and Kleenex."

Following the success of my trivia website RaiseYourBrain, I published several award-winning compilations of hard-to-believe facts that have reached hundreds of thousands of readers. One of the chapters in each trivia book was "Disturbing Facts about Our World". I decided to fill an entire volume with facts about upsetting crimes and mayhem, combined with unbelievable yet real instances of misfortune and misery. This is a book where grim examples of bigotry and hypocrisy are intertwined with amusing stories of bad luck. In the spirit of the times we live in, I dedicated a whole chapter to COVID-19 trivia and weird medical conditions. I am well aware that many potential readers might be overwhelmed by the condensed negativity, but hey... a fact is a fact! Continue to read if you are curious to learn: * Why were the trousers of New Zealand's farmers exploding? * What is the depressing origin of the phrase "Hip Hip, Hooray"? * Why did the Spanish Habsburgs royal family sleep with human mummies? * Why was it legal in Iceland until 2015 to kill Basque people? * Who was the "Deep Throat" informer from the Watergate scandal? * How many people were killed trying to cross the notorious Berlin Wall? * Why do snakes make a better pet than cats or dogs? * How can millipedes cause a train crash? * What is the etymology of "thug"? * What are the chances of getting killed by rubbish falling from space? * How did polygamist men in Kuwait manage to visit all their wives during the coronavirus lockdown? However incredible these pieces of trivia might sound, all entries have been verified and fact-checked.

All the amazing facts in this book are strange but true. With clever, yet easy-to-understand visual comparisons, you will make sense of things that seem too bizarre to be real. In It Can't Be True! 2, you can see a hippo's mouth large enough to swallow a car, a truck strong enough to carry 90 elephants, and a jellyfish longer than three blue whales. Plus, did you know that all the world's continents could fit into the Pacific Ocean? Or that all the world's trees could fill North and South America combined? These concepts are brought to life with fascinating CGI artworks. Find out how much paper you'd need to print out the World Wide Web (hint: it's a stack taller than the height of Earth's globe), how much sweat your feet produce in a day (it could fill a glass), and much more in this collection of weird facts and world records from planet Earth and space, animals and plants, people, and technology. If you think it can't be true, It Can't Be True! 2 will prove that it is!

This book is a great asset to all men who need to make their own health a priority."?Joe Gibbs, NFL Hall of Fame coach and owner of 4x NASCAR champion Joe Gibbs Racing Everything you need to know about men's health in one handy package. In their decades of clinical practice, Dr. Neil Baum and Dr. Scott Miller have treated sexual problems, prostate problems, urinary leakage, pelvic pain, urinary tract infections, and questions about infertility. They have seen countless male patients describe the problem simply as "something's not right down there," either because they are embarrassed about the issues or unaware of them. How's It Hanging? provides an easy-to-read guide to men's health. It is a sorely needed reference, during their lifetime 50 percent of men will have one of more of the conditions discussed in the book. With an appropriate use of humor, analogies, illustrations, and case examples, the doctors share their knowledge of the penis, prostate, and testicles. They start with a discussion of male anatomy, covering the different organs, tubes, and hormones. They then move on to cover various problems, including erectile dysfunction, premature ejaculation, cancer, testosterone deficiency, STDs, and how they can be treated. How's It Hanging? will help men make informed decisions about their medical care. Instead of suffering in silence, they will be more likely to discuss these issues with their friends and family and seek help when needed. And they will be better patients, able to communicate with their physicians about what's going on "down there."

In this book, David K. Levine questions the idea that behavioral economics is the answer to economic problems. He explores the successes and failures of contemporary economics both inside and outside the laboratory, and asks whether popular behavioral theories of psychological biases are solutions to the failures. The book not only provides an overview of popular behavioral theories and their history, but also gives the reader the tools for scrutinizing them.

Fake. That's what we are. That's what we agreed to be. So why does it feel so real? I thought it would have been harder, convincing everyone our school's star receiver was mine and mine alone, but I was wrong. We played our parts so well that the lines between us began to blur until they disappeared completely. The thing about pretending, though, someone's always better at it, and by the time I realized my mistake, there was no going back. I fell for our lie. And then everything fell apart. It turned out he and I were never playing the same game. He didn't have to break me to win. But he did it anyway.

The book will be a strong and faithful ally preventing social awkwardness by arming you with plenty of icebreaking pieces of trivia, suitable for any occasion. My goal was to write a quiz book that would stand out with interesting, educational and fun content; a book that would both entertain and challenge. The concept is based on the well-known multiple choice format, with an added twist of introducing the "Which is NOT true?" approach for the half of the questions. This approach has its merit in allowing you to learn two crazy facts about people, places or animals by answering a single question. The book is not meant to be "your go-to" book for facts. I assure you however that it is loaded with fun and verified facts presented in a manner that can provide you with hours of entertainment. All the material is fresh, and is not simply recycled from my previous publication. Life is too short to settle for the run-of-the-mill. This book will show you just how fantastical and funny the real world is. It will provide you with never-ending intellectual ammunition for a lifetime of dinner parties. You can use it to organise pub or family quizzes, or use it as a prep tool to give you the edge when participating in these.
